New Years Resolutions

Hi guys!

Welcome to 2017

I know it’s a tad late, ok maybe that’s an understatement. I know it’s very late! 2017 was like 2 weeks ago!! But Happy New Year!

On Sunday, page 1 of 365, January 1st, I woke up and created a new note on my iPhone note taking app. I titled it “Goalssss”. I have never created new years resolutions ever in my life!!! But for some reason, I decided to do one this year! So here are some of my resolutions:

  • Drink 2L of water a day.
I know, I know, this is such a cliche resolution but I really am trying to get healthier this year! I’ve not had any soft drinks for the past 2 to 3 years and i’m pretty proud of that. Thus, my only drink would be water. But even then, I don’t drink enough and often mistake thirst for hunger and start snacking on junk! So hopefully, I start gulping down more sky juice this year!
  • Stop snacking on fruits, nuts and biscuits 2 – 3 hours after meals.
Because I don’t drink enough water, I often mistake thirst for hunger and start snacking even though i’m full! Snacks like fruits and nuts are deemed healthy but i’d still like to limit my intake of these snacks! Hopefully by drinking more water, it curbs le cravings!
  • Read 15 books
I like to consider myself a bookworm. I love books. Time passes so fast when you have a superb book in your hand. Last year, because of school commitments, I didn’t get much time to sit down and read but this year’s different! Because I get more free time this year (I think, I hope), I plan on reading at least 15 books! Hopefully that happens! *crosses fingers*
  • Workout at least 5 times a week including one day with Yoga
I’m a cardio freak. I love cardio, especially running! I love to be dripping in sweat, face like a tomato and panting like a mad woman. It’s amazing!! However, I tend to overdo it and it led to adverse health issues last year (if you’d like to know more about it, I might write another post on it).
Towards the end of last year, I stumbled across Kayla Itsines BBG programme and saw the progress gorgeous girls from all over the world were making – be it losing weight and getting fit or getting strong and leaned. It was unbelievable! So, I decided to join the community! Although I haven’t posted any progress shots, I think I might start once I finish the 12th week! What I love about BBG besides the supportive community, is that fact that the workouts are only 28 minutes, 3 times a week. I’m pretty sure I can do that!
This leaves me with 2 remaining days. On these days, I would like to dedicate one of to yoga and the other to some other workout like running or even taking it slow and going on walks.
  • Bake a decent loaf of bread
I have tried baking bread a million times but it’s never been successful 😦 . This year however, I am determined to bake a decent loaf of bread! It doesn’t even have to be a loaf, it can always be little buns!
So far, i’ve collated a whole list of bun/ bread recipes on my pinterest but have yet to try it out! But when I do finally come around to baking a successful loaf, you won’t here me talk about anything else. 😋
  • Learn Spanish
This might be a bit adventurous of me but since i’ve got much time on my hands, why not? I mean, i’m bilingual so I figured why not be trilingual? I also did a little bit of research and discovered that Spanish is one of the most important languages to learn! Replays of Dora and Handy Manny, i’m read for you!

What are some of your resolutions? List them in the comments below!
